• Exact verbiage for each section of your website such as a biography or welcome text. Be sure to proof-read your text! Please provide text in un-formatted copy-and-paste fashion to speed up development time.
• Logos, original pictures/product photos or existing graphics. Some allowable formats are jpg, png, tiff and gif. (You MUST have ownership of any images or graphics supplied.)
• A clear and precise vision of your goal for the website.
• A list of each page of your website and what type of content will be included.
• A diagram or explanation of the navigation process for locating each page.
• Up to date contact information including email address, phone number and physical address if needed.

Pappas Development Group is currently enabling our customers to take full advantage of their advertising by using the latest technology called “QR Codes.” A QR Code which is also known as matrix bar code or Quick Response Code (two-dimensional code) is readable by QR scanners and mobile phones equipped with a camera including most smart phones.
The bar code itself consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background and can encode text, a url, or other data.

QR Code Uses for Businsess

Although QR Codes are gaining some momentum and are quite popular in Japan, QR Codes and their scanners are still foreign to most people.  People are now beginning to realize the potential of using QR Codes.  According to a usage statistics document by the mobile engagement company, Sparq Code, the first quarter of 2010 showed a great deal of usage statistics with their individual codes.

Lets take at look at how you can put to use QR Codes to make them work for you:

“Checking-In:” Instead of having a “Find us on Facebook” sign, stategically place a QR code that will take the user to the Facebook Places “check-in” page for your business.  This provides the user with less steps to action.
Bonus: You could also do this with many other social media sites such as the popular review site Yelp, or other location based social media services such as Foursquare.

Marketing Materials: Consider placing QR Codes on your marketing materials such as brochures, handouts, presentations, fliers, commercials, and other marketing materials. Perhaps point them to Twitter to follow you, or to “like” you on your Facebook page, or to a how-to video on using your product.

Business Cards: Have you recently put your Twitter username on your business card? Consider taking your business card up another notch and generate a barcode that directs scanners to your biography or to your business company or team page.

Discounts and Freebies: Consider placing QR Codes throughout your website to offer discounts or even freebies on products.  If your in the restaurant industry, consider placing QR Codes on your menu (this can also lead to more information about a food item, such as its nutritional information).

Final Thoughts

Remember QR Codes are foreign to most people, so consider educating your customers on how to use QR codes, including on where to get QR code scanners for their smartphone.

Make the QR codes valuable and useful for those that are targeting them. Simply pointing those that scan your QR codes to your website may not be engaging enough.
